Life Giving Inconvenience in Montana
We are in Montana on a writing sabbatical and Holy Spirit-led adventure. Last evening, we had dinner with some new friends. The first restaurant we went to met us at the door and declared they had a kitchen fire episode and were closing for the night. So, we went to our second spot, and they worked us in at about 7:30. Our main course arrived at our table at approximately 10:00 PM! I normally would have been extremely agitated or would have finally given up. But on this night, we realized that our Father had done a miracle that allowed us to have this extraordinary time out of time with our new friends to go deep in conversation—so deep that I believe soul wounds were healed, revelation was revealed, and love and honor were shared beyond anything we had expected. In the end, we were given a gift that, at first thought, seemed an inconvenience. I’m so thankful for that time. Today, these new friends seem like deep friends, old friends, and soul friends. Thank you, Father, for the time that You made for this to happen. Be on the lookout in your life for God to surprise you through inconvenience. Our Holy Spirit adventure has just begun.
