Collecting Stories In Utopia

Today we are in Utopia. All day long I was either hearing stories or making new ones. This place like all small villages in our country are time out of time places where salt of earth people are living their story and to hear them is a privilege.

I continually thank God for allowing me to be a part of this community even though we don’t reside here. Utopia is a grounding place for me and my wife. It’s a place we experience life deeply with our best friends. Today I had a cheeseburger in the Lost Maples Cafe, signed 1000 books that will be postmarked out of here, went to the golf course at 5:00 where the community meets each week for a “nine and dine” scramble.

Each week the pairings change and new friends are made or old acquaintances share a new experience. Young kids and parents, older folks, all making a living very creatively in this off the map little slice of heaven. Time really does stand still for a few days and we unwind.

I do pray that you all would get to come and experience this sacred spot. Come on a Thursday and show up at 5:00 for golf and a simple dinner. And listen to the stories and make some new ones of your own as well. Your life will never be the same. Thank you Father for leading my path to and through Utopia.
