A Crisp Fall Montana Morning with You
A Crisp Fall Montana Morning With You
I wish I could sit and have a cup of coffee with each of you one on one. A good spot would be the back porch of our Montana cabin. We would look outwards towards the pine and aspen covered mountain range and breathe deeply as we take our first sip.
The fall foliage is exploding and a chance for snow is in the forecast this weekend. Crisp air, blue skies, a hint of chimney smoke drifting by. Change is in the air. And the moisture in our eyes would speak volumes without a word into the conversation. We need a change. Our hearts need a dose of hope…
You have been concerned by all that is happening in the world as a whole including AI, Iran, the mid-terms, inflation, and plague fear mongering along with your life and family as well. The constant drip of uncertainty along with social media chaos is hard on the heart.
While the tendency of our conversation would be to wade into those things we can’t control, I believe the Holy Spirit would intervene and say to both of us, “peace, be still.”
We would take another sip and this time the taste and aroma of the freshly ground and French pressed cup of Joe would be noticed and savored—maybe for the first time in a long time. The moment would begin to settle upon us. We would begin to notice the sound of the geese migrating, the eagle soaring in the distance. We would observe the Western Bluebird upon his house looking to the south wondering if this is the day he says goodbye for the season. We would notice the slight breeze that causes the bright yellow Aspen leaves to rustle and twirl as if applauding creation.
We would take another sip and physically feel anxiety fleeing from our hearts. We would once again hear the Holy Spirit say, “All is well.” And we would wipe our eyes and look at each other and say, “I needed this.” And by and by we would end with the knowing that without words, we had a much needed conversation.
The link below is what I hope is a long cup of coffee with each of you, many I may never meet. The stories and parables are for your heart and mine. The times are intense but God is in control… all is well my friends… all is well.
