Utopia to Montana

Heading back to Montana today to continue our writing sabbatical and Holy Spirit adventure. This week we were in Utopia. I was reminded this week of something written in the cemetery in Utopia at the golf course. It literally says that the people of Utopia chose the name Montana for their new township in the early 1800s. They chose it because this place is surrounded by Texas Mountains. The state wrote them back and said that the name had already been taken, so they came up with Utopia in its place! Pretty cool that the Lord has us in both Utopia and Montana this summer on our adventure with Him!

Today’s picture is of the city park lake in Utopia. The crushing drought is over, and the springs are flowing once again. The water is cascading over the dam for the first time in many years. There is nothing so life-taking and depressing as year upon year of lack of rain, and there is nothing so life-giving as seeing a drought ended. Clear, beautiful, cool spring water everywhere. Knee-high green grass, happy livestock and wildlife, birds singing again. I feel as though God is using this as a sign of what He is doing right now. Many of us have felt a crushing drought in our lives over the past 5-10 years. There is a shift. I have felt it in my writing. There has been a significant breakthrough this summer.

The drought is over, and our Father is crushing the enemy daily. The fresh supernatural rains from Heaven are here. Hang in there, choose faith, dig deep with your Father in Heaven; the golden age has been initiated. There is great hope. While you can’t all get to Utopia or Montana right now, you can go there in your spirit. And that’s why I’ll continue to spark your spirit each week with One Minute in Utopia. Love you all dearly!

“and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
- Isaiah 61:3 NIV
