A Dog's Unconditional Love

I found this old photo of my former dog and me the other day. My heart still misses a beat when I see her. Her name was Hope. This was my third collie in my life. These collies literally saved my life during the really dark and hard moments. They were always there, always smiling, always wanted me, and always and forever showed unconditional love. My first collie, Lassie, and I were inseparable when I was a boy. Then it happened. Slowly but surely, I began to spend less time with her and more time seeking attention from my performances in life. The truth is, none of those victories, trophies, accolades, degrees earned, promotions, etc., could ever fill the place of unconditional love from my collies… or from my God.
