Sparrow
I was contemplating today’s One Minute message. I had my Bible open and read where Jesus sent the 70 disciples into the towns two by two, telling them to “heal the sick and introduce them to the Kingdom that has arrived.”
At that moment, a sparrow ran into our sliding glass door and fell on his back, trembling. He then started to stiffen. I felt led to set him on his feet and gently rub his crown and feathers as I prayed for life and healing to replace death. I prayed the blood of Jesus that heals all creation to heal him. I set him upright in the yard, and his eyes began to move. He seemed to respond to my touch and out loud decrees for his specific healing. It seemed right. God was present, reminding me that nothing is insignificant in the Kingdom realm. His eyes opened, and I moved to a distance to give him room to fly and remove any fear of me. In a few minutes, he slowly turned his head and realized he was healed and free. I watched as he flew to a nearby tree to join life again… a part of creation that the Almighty Father started with His breath at creation. He still breathes new life as we speak it and decree it with faith.
This was a prophetic reminder to me. While the enemy has conspired to take us out, especially these past four years, God continues to breathe new life into us at every turn. It’s time to fly again. Receive His breath, look around, wake up, and spread your wings. Happy New Year. This will be a year like no other. I love you all dearly.
“What is the value of your soul to God? Could your worth be defined by any amount of money? God doesn’t abandon or forget even the small sparrow he has made. How, then, could he forget or abandon you? What about the seemingly minor issues of your life? Do they matter to God? Of course, they do! So you never need to worry, for you are more valuable to God than anything else in this world.”
