Advantage
Do you continue to be overwhelmed by how scripture continues to jump off the page and surprise you yet once again? Verses, words, chapters that you have read many times, but yet on this occasion, it arrests your soul. It’s as though you are taken to another level. That is why the Bible is called the living word. God will use it again and again to strike a chord, a supernatural chord that imparts new revelation at just the right time.
This week's transformation came to me with one word: advantage. Jesus said this the night before he was crucified: “But here’s the truth: it’s to your ADVANTAGE that I go away, for if I don’t go away, the Divine Encourager (Holy Spirit) will not be released to you. But after I depart (crucified), I will send Him to you.” John 16: 7 TPT.
The disciples saw Him walk on water, heal the sick, and raise the dead. They heard all of His teachings and lived in His presence for three years. Yet Jesus said, there is an upgrade, something better, an advantage that I will give you. Seriously, something better than what they experienced? Yes, Jesus said with emphasis, “here’s the truth, it’s to your advantage.” Take this in. Let it marinate deeply. This is a life-changing statement and truth Jesus gave to us. He said that our upgrade and the advantage we will have in this world is to have the Holy Spirit, the voice of the Almighty, imparted to us when we receive Jesus. He goes on to say that inside of us, this upgrade is the voice of all truth, our counselor, and our comforter. I can say this with confidence: outside of salvation that comes through Jesus, this is the greatest gift ever given to man. Yet most churches have not embraced nor taught this.
I am thankful beyond words for this advantage. I want to take full advantage of this advantage. This is a pivotal word at this pivotal juncture in the world. Take hold of it. Take advantage of it. It is to your advantage…
