JPT: Joy, Prayer, Thanksgiving

Today I thought we should change it up a bit. Instead of a blog, let’s do a vlog. Last week I had the privilege of speaking at Global Presence in Keller, Texas. What a day and experience. I thought I’d give you one minute from my talk. Many of you have never met me. Count this “One Minute in Utopia” as an introduction. And I think you will receive encouragement as well. Hope we can all meet one day. Maybe a day long story telling event called “One Day in Utopia!

The Lord says in first Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” This is our nuclear defense system: JPT - Joy, Prayer, Thanksgiving.

There are places in our life where the enemy wants to attack us. God gives us talents and gifts and dreams and abilities, and the enemy wants to lie, manipulate, and speak untruth through the spirit of manipulation. He wants to take us out.

Just like the first words he said to human beings, “Did God really say? Do you really think you're a good player? Oh, you think you can sing? Oh, you think you can preach?” For the rest of my life, no matter if it's in golf or in life, when I find myself in a buried lie, I will always think Joy, Prayer, and Thanksgiving.
