"Dr. Cook knows what it takes...from the inside out...to really play this game. Listen to him, internalize what he says, and when you own it, you'll play your best golf ever."

Mark McCormick had waited 12 years to get back to this point, to be standing over a putt to win the New Jersey Open--and all that surrounded him were distractions.
The heat, the crowd, the car engine starting in the parking lot, his kids with their fists clenched and his wife with her hands nervously shaking. All of that could have made McCormick's 2-foot putt seem like it was miles away from the cup. So the 45-year old repeated the same phrase he had all week: "See it. Feel it. Trust it."
It worked.
Despite those potential distractions, McCormick sank the putt yesterday on the 18th hole at Alpine Country Club in Demarest to give him his first NJSGA Open Championship victory. The longtime head professional at Suburban received a raucous cheer from the dozens of friends, family and club members that followed him throughout the round.
"My friend gave me this four-CD set called, 'Psychology of Tournament Golf' by Dr. David Cook before the tournament began," McCormick said. "I must have said that a million times before every hole and every shot this week."
