So much of it relates to all our lives. As we all search for significance called by so many different and meaningless names, "Golf's Sacred Journey" allows us to comprehend that which is so simple yet impossible to discover alone. Thank you.

In April, a daughter of a friend confided in me that she gets very nervous before she plays the trumpet in competitions. This is the case even though she wants to be a professional trumpet performer. In trying to help her, I dug back into my memory of things you told me you did to help athletes when you were at KU. I talked to her about visualizing herself playing and playing well. Her performance worked and she earned a top rating at the 5A state music competition. After we returned home I did a Google search and found your book and ordered it. A few days after it arrived, I started reading it and thought I would read a chapter or so before bed. I laughed. I cried. I prayed. I finished the book in one setting about 2:00 a.m. Take care.

Great Book. I am headed to Champions Tour Q-school today, (Nov 1) and this book has changed me forever. The pressure I felt is gone. I have a new captain of my ship, even though I called myself a good Catholic for decades and thought I had my faith in the proper perspective...I was wrong. I received he book from my sister this week, and I read it in one sitting. Thanks for getting out the message.

I actually got the book from my dad. He had received it from a dear family friend of ours. I could not put the book down! David's story would be a breath of fresh air to any golfer or non-golfer alike. David's testimony was inspiring to me and just might have been the spark that I needed to reignite the flame in my relationship with the Lord. I know I am probably not the first to say it, but throughout the entire story, I saw myself as clear as ever through David's character in the story. I don't know if David is reading this or not, but I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for the testimony and life lessons I found in his book. I know that I can take what I've learned and put it into practice on the golf course, in my everyday life, and most importantly: my relationship with God.

My father sent me this book to read. I finally sat down to read it the other day. I was unable to put it down and could not wait to pick up where I left off every chance I got. The lessons in this book are for anyone out there. Golfer or not. I was moved by the story and all of the lessons along the way. This book is a life lesson for anyone who reads it. Exceptional book.

... As I look back thru 2008, one of if not THE biggest events was my reading of Dr. Cook's "Golf Sacred Journey". It has made such a big difference in my life and has really brought me out my shell as far as "Living for Christ".

 

I have given away 25 copies of David Cooks book to individual golfers that either know or are on their way to knowing God.

 

What a great witness and ministry tool. I hand one out every time I play a round. I loved reading it and enjoy more so sharing it with others! Thanks for a great tool!

 

There has been a dozen books I have read in my life that have claimed to be "Life changing". Never have I been so moved by a book so profoundly. It sat on my coffee table for a couple of months since my older brother gave a copy to all of us siblings. I just decided one day to finally pick it up. I knew it would only take me a week or so to go through it. I read it in 4 days. The first time I picked it up I couldn't put it down for hours. By the end of it I was weeping & literally on my knees. This book truly, aside from the Bible, has changed my life. I have to share it. You can't keep Christ bottled up. I am going to give each copy to all the young men in my life. Son, nephews, niece's husbands, daughter's boyfriends, fiance... for Christmas. Great book.....I'm back for more!

 

The book has been a great hit with the guys I play with. I rather enjoy sharing it with a golfer that is not a follower of Christ. The first chapter grabs a golfer by the heart and doesn't let go. The plight ( I can't even recall the golfers name) will grab you right away. And if you enjoy the game, your not likely to put the book down till the end. Christ sneaks in, messes with your heart before you even realize it. I LOVE IT. I read all the time. This book is a keeper and a "give awayer" Now that is not a word but I know you know what I mean. And guys love hard backs and they feel like they have really been given a gift. Until they read they just don't know how valuable of a gift they have been given.

 

As a Promise Keeper, this book touched me in many ways. I do hope that it's message can ignite my 19 year old son... Thank you for your clear original and insightful message. Keep up the good work.

 

I caddied professionally from 1988 to 2001. I "retired" when my only child was born Oct. 23, 2002. My relationship failed due to my own causes and my attempts at being a good father have not fared much better. Thanks to this book I will try to do better in all aspects of my life. Thank you.

My company is an avid group of golfers and this book has presented the greatest way for me to share golf secrets and the secret of life with my friends and coworkers. Our CEO, and my friend, has been doing face on putting for years, with a standard putter, and I had a great time this Christmas giving him the book, and a "real" face on putter. My wife surprised me and got me a putter for Christmas also. So much for tradition!

Just finished the book and I was moved by the way Dr Cook blended my favorit game with our purpose for being here --Gods love for us and glorifying Him.

 

On a Friday in November I arrived at my church to join a small group of people traveling to Sierra Leone to do some work at a mission hospital in Freetown. The wife of one of the guys on the trip handed me this book saying, "Here's a good read for the plane". I read it and passed it around to the others. I'm looking forward to sharing this with the high school golf team members who also go to my church.

 

I received the book as a gift from my brother... He is an inspiration to me in many ways and often sends me special things such as your book. I enjoyed it tremendously. Although I am not much of a golfer, I plan to use it as a witnessing tool to some of my friends who need a little encouraging in the things of the Lord. Thanks for being used of the Lord!

I was giving this book 1 1/2 years ago, and just put it on a shelf because I never read books, but then one day something told me to read it. So I took it on a trip with me and read it. This book is amazing. It has made me look at the game of golf and life in a different matter. It is a real eye opener. Now that I have read this book, my plans are as follows: I have a friend that has been trying to make it on the tour, and I plan on giving it to him to read and then I'm going to ask him to pass it along to someone else. The book was a gift to my head golf professional. It noticed it on his book shelf one morning and asked if he minds if I read it. I started it that night and finished it that night. Thank you for this great book. I am learning to apply the teachings in this book in my life in a way that you may not have heard before. You see I dont play golf at all. I am very familiar with the game because my brother and my dad were avid golfers. My dad died last May. One of his dear friends and golfing partners gave him your book during the last months of his battle with cancer. It was in turn given to me. I am in the process of re-reading it now. The message is well presented and powerful. As a believer I was thrilled to read the final chapter and see Johnny pass along the greatest instruction of all. But as I said I am a believer, so why am I re-reading it now and intend to read it a 3rd or 4th time? Because the golfing techniques taught in this book apply perfectly to my sport as well. I shoot sporting clays. Sporting clays is often described as golf with a shotgun. Not only is the game similar, but the techniques, forms and skills required to shoot a great round of clays mirrors those required for a great round of golf. I have adopted your five preparation points: Observation, Strategy and SFT as my pre-shot routine. I wish I could say that it instantly made me a champion, but that isnt the case. I'm on that plateu trying to get to the next level using a newly aquired and not yet comfortable set of tools. Like golfers, I have spent a lot of money on instructors and never came across a Johnny.
