Author, speaker, entrepreneur, sport and performance consultant and ministry director Dr. David Cook is on a mission to coach the eternal legacies of men.

Moving men from success to significance is his passion.

David writes, "God will use your influence and mine to change the world for eternity." His book, Golf's Sacred Journey: Seven Days at the Links of Utopia, and the ministry that has grown up around it are doing exactly that by empowering men to make the success-to-significance transition.

These strategic endeavors are the culmination of years of preparation. God has used a wide range of experiences to collectively prepare David to write this book, and to give him a platform from which to launch this ministry.

David's own journey into significance began when he was a 15-year-old high school football player. An invitation to a James Robison event was accompanied with this challenge: "If you're a real man, you'll be there tonight." That was the night when David discovered something that transcended the high of winning, and David walked away with a powerful relationship with Jesus Christ.

A few years later, David received his PhD after studying under one of the pioneers of sports psychology, Bob Rotella. He then spent twelve years as the Director of Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Kansas (1984 – 1996) where he counseled over 1500 athletes and coaches. In 1988 he represented the United States at the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece. In 1992 his peers elected him President of the National Sport Psychology Academy.

But in 1996, at a Promise Keepers event, David felt God was calling him to step into something new. Walking away from his tenure as a college professor, he started his own consulting service. There he began to coach eternal destinies rather than just sport destinies.

His clients in the sport arena have included the World Champion San Antonio Spurs (1996 – 2004), the Washington Wizards of the NBA (2004 – 2005), over 100 PGA Tour Players, Olympians, several Collegiate National Championship teams, and others. Golf Digest recently named him one of the "Top 10 Mental Game Consultants" in the world of golf.

One thing led to another, and David's invitations to work with corporate leaders also multiplied. He soon became recognized as one of the nation's top Peak Performance consultants. His business clients have included Exxon Mobil, Sprint, HP/Compaq, USAA, Heinz, American Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Bayer, Pitney Bowes, State Farm Insurance and many more.

Throughout his career, David has remained focused on coaching the eternal legacies of men. David is a frequent speaker at Christian men's events, family camps, and marriage retreats. He has been repeatedly invited to address week long family retreats at Wind River Ranch in Estes Park, Colorado.

Drawing on these 25+ years of varied experiences, David undertook the task of writing Golf's Sacred Journey. While the book is a must read for anyone who wants to improve his golf game, the final chapters lead the reader into a much deeper place – the place of significance and to the author of life. David explains, "Success has never filled a single man's soul. It is my calling and privilege to share why, and to lead people to an adventure with Christ."

Married over 27 years, David and his wife Karen have two daughters, Lexie and Hannah. The family splits their time between Utopia, TX and Colorado.
